Electronic Telegram No. 1734 Central Bureau for Astronomical Telegrams INTERNATIONAL ASTRONOMICAL UNION M.S. 18, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, Cambridge, MA 02138, U.S.A. IAUSUBS@CFA.HARVARD.EDU or FAX 617-495-7231 (subscriptions) CBAT@CFA.HARVARD.EDU (science) URL http://www.cfa.harvard.edu/iau/cbat.html SUPERNOVA 2009E IN NGC 4141 E. Prosperi (Castelmartini, Italy) and G. M. Hurst (Basingstoke, Hants, England) have both noted that this object (cf. CBET 1648) appears to have brightened, as indicated by their unfiltered CCD magnitudes of 2009E obtained with 0.35-m reflectors: Jan. 16.944 UT, 17.4 (Prosperi); 28.138, 17.5 (Hurst); Mar. 8.053, 16.3 (Prosperi); 9.916 16.2 (Prosperi); 22.067, 16.7 (Hurst). No spectroscopy of this object has been reported to the Central Bureau, so the supernova type remains unknown.
