APPARENT SUPERNOVA IN MCG+05-04-59 T. Boles, Coddenham, England, reports the discovery of an apparent supernova (mag 18.0) on an unfiltered CCD image taken on Jul 31.071 with a 0.35-m reflector. The new object is located at R.A. =01h26m34s.69, Decl. = +31o37'03".6, which is approximately 14".2 east and 5".1 north of the center of MCG +05-04-59. Boles also measured position end figures 34s.71, 03".7 and magnitude V = 17.9 on Aug. 01.481 using an image taken with a 0.61-m Cassegrain reflector at the Sierra Stars Observatory, Alpine County, California (limiting mag 20.5). Nothing is present at this position on Boles's images from 2010 Dec 25 and Oct 17 (limiting mag 19.5) or on Digitised Sky Survey Plates from 1991-10-05 (limiting red mag 20.5), and 1992-09-30 (limiting blue mag 21.0).
