APPARENT SUPERNOVA IN UGC 5460

     T. Boles, Coddenham, England, reports the discovery of an apparent 
supernova (mag 17.0) on unfiltered CCD images taken on Sep 29.182 and 30.086 
with a 0.35-m reflector.  The new object is located at R.A. =10h08m10s.59, 
Decl. = +51o50'57".0, which is approximately 12".4 east and 17".2 north of 
the center of UGC 5460.

Nothing is present at this position on Boles's images from 2011 Apr 30 and 
06 (limiting mag 19.5) or on Digitised Sky Survey Plates from 1989-12-06 
(limiting red mag 20.5), and 1992-02-24 (limiting blue mag 21.0).
